Here are 14 recent restaurants that opened in metro Detroit

It’s been another busy month or so in metro Detroit’s restaurant scene. There’s been a slew of openings, from places offering Latin-Caribbean and pizza fare to restaurants with new menu items and hours.

In Detroit’s Boston-Edison neighborhood, The Rectory is a full-service pizza restaurant opened Sept. 30 in a restored, historic home. This home was once the rectory for the next-door church, now home to The Congregation, a cafe and bar that opened in 2020.  After sitting vacant for five decades, the space was reimagined and restored by the team behind The Congregation, which offers indoor dining and a three-season deck plus a walk-up window. Its pizzas, according to a news release, are hand-tossed and use locally sourced ingredients. There is house-made red sauce, white sauce and a pesto base, plus custom build-your-own options. Also on the menu are salads, appetizers and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Hours are 4-10 p.m Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m Sunday.

Now available: pizza by the slice!
