Detroit’s Boston-Edison neighborhood welcomed a new pizza spot in June when the
owners of The Congregation launched The Rectory next door.
The Rectory operates out of a 2,000-square-foot former single-family home at 1920
Atkinson St. that had been vacant for 30 years.
It’s owned by Betsy and Greg Murdoch, who also run coffeeshop and bar The
Congregation. Rebel Nell owner Amy Peterson and her husband Antonio Luck are also
a part of the ownership group, which invested about $2 million into the new business,
which sells hand-tossed, Neapolitan-inspired pizzas.
